The Nitrous Oxide and Oxygen Sedation course is designed to instruct students in the art and science of minimal inhalation sedation using Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen.
It encompasses the evaluation of the child and adult patient prior to administration, management of the patient during administration, and the management of medical emergencies.
The course is 5 weeks of didactic, online learning (15 hours) and one day (8 hours) of on-site clinical practice. Students are expected to be in the ULM Dental Hygiene Clinic during the final day for the clinical portion.
